Artificial Intelligence

So far I’ve passed the AI tests in my posts on Facebook, and none have been rejected.  Whether you know it or not, so have you.  AI (Artificial Intelligence) helps Facebook review all posts for any that would offend the network platform, another name for what it considers acceptable content.

I am revolutionary only in the spiritual area, in that I sometimes object to popular beliefs.  That’s not because they’re popular, but because they break the bounds of reason or goodness (morals).  So much for Fred the prophet.

AI is not frightening, it is interesting.  It will not cause a rebellion of robots as in science fiction.  The creator of AI, though, can be frightening—he’s human.  Yes,  we do have a choice—to be murderers or saviors.

Potential for Good & Evil

The human way of learning is not the only effective one.  AI computers have their own methods, and these are adapted by the humans who teach them.  AI machines are now running Facebook and other social media; at least they implement policies that have been designed by humans with the help of AI.

We don’t yet have the case where AI makes the final decisions, but  you’d be surprised at what is left up to them when the numbers become colossal.  True, we are children of the Creator, and should be careful of what we leave up to a machine that we have made.  But humans can be absolutely wicked when they line up with the Father of Lies.

Kicking Over the Footstool

Quantum physics has shown, believe it or not, that the observer has some influence on the object being observed.  Yes, we, as human observers, have some influence on the electron under scrutiny.  Man has influence on Nature.

This need not be demonstrated here with electrons or Higgs bosons, for we have a more perfect example in Jesus Christ calming the storm.  We already know we are affecting the birds of the USA for the worse.

Yep, face it, you are part of Nature and there is a result to your being here. Please try to make the impact a good one.

Change

Within a matter of a few years you can change your destination from heaven to hell.  Change is the story of our lives.  In 1939, the French Army tanks were superior to those of the Germans.  (Don’t think of the German Mark I Panzer, which came toward the end of the War.)  Then the Germans put radios in their tanks, which converted them into more than just infantry support.

The Germans started to win battles.  Are you losing the battles for your soul?  Remember, this is a changing world, and you may be doing without that vital communication, which is prayer.  Keep up the fight—you are supposed to win.

I know you, and you’re a winner.

Prayers Answered

(from last May)

So you think prayers are seldom, if ever, answered?  The neighbor’s grandson, a newly-minted medical doctor, was recently diagnosed with an aortic tumor, cancer, and his path to being a surgeon was on hold.  My wife asked me to say prayers for him.

I complied, and said two rosaries for that intention.  Weeks went by, and this morning came the news that the suspected aortic artery tumor was benign.  The attending surgeons cut it out, but there was no fear that they didn’t get all of it.

We sometimes are not even aware that a prayer has been answered.  Blanket thanks are in order in our prayers to a Creator who does, contradicting popular credence, interfere in his own creation on occasion.  Our perceptions are not always so accurate.
