When I feel down and out, it is good to realize that I am living among people with similar values and morals. When I am at the top of my game, I feel able to handle the challenge of others, like the Left.
The presence of what we consider irresponsible values in our midst can be an incitement to clear thinking, and an antidote to complacency. This last-mentioned mood can be the cause of corruption and lazy thinking.
I’m saying the kite rises with a wind that is against it, so it is not good to have life just the way we like it. It is perhaps what Jesus meant when he said the rich find it hard to get to heaven.
