Polish History

When John Paul II visited Poland, the Communist government wanted the Church to speak for the Polish people, but the pope said it should be Solidarity, the union, that represented the people.  But Solidarity was illegal under Communism.  The pope had his way and Solidarity won the subsequent elections, leading to the fall of Polish and Russian Communism in 1989.

A wise man can undo years of evil or wrong, and that’s what went on in Poland.  I sat safe in the U.S., and nobody told me.  Intricate are the workings of God.
